Squid is a "cephalopod" that occurs in many of our seas and oceans and is widely used in both human food and animal feed, providing a valuable source of proteins, amino acids, as well as zinc, magnesium, selenium, and vitamins.It has been popular for many years as a bait ingredient or flavor profile among carp anglers and is, especially squid meat, an irresistible, naturally occurring food source for fish, making it excellent for attracting large carp and other species.
