The extra large, heat-dissipating brake button in conjunction with the newly designed, larger drive wheel ensures enormous resilience, power and silky-smooth running. The newly designed spool edge and the new spool design ensure extreme casting distances and optimal casting performance.
The newly designed aluminum air rotor of the 20 Saltiga is more than twice as strong. The CNC-milled G1 Dur aluminum drive wheel is twice as strong as the previous model 15 Saltiga. The enormous power of the larger gear - the G1 CNC-milled duralumin drive wheel - impresses in every detail. Especially in extreme situations, anglers need a reel that they can fully rely on under all circumstances.
The larger diameter and greater material thickness reduces the risk of wear and deformation in the drive and pinion gear. Until now, the reel body essentially consisted of two components – the housing and the housing cover. The new MQ design can now completely dispense with the use of a housing cover.
The gearbox is now installed directly into the housing and screwed using a small “engine plate”. No screws are required to hold and fasten a housing cover. The housing therefore offers more space for the larger drive wheel, which significantly improves the power transmission and load capacity of the roller.
Even with the first Saltiga series, the technology and protection against water penetration was an absolute must. Starting with a rubber seal on the axle, through the first use of the Magsealed construction to the high-quality Magsealed ball bearings. Thanks to the new monocoque housing in conjunction with the new Magsealed technologies, the 20Saltiga now offers even better protection against all environmental influences such as water, salt and dirt.
In the 20Saltiga, Magsealed ball bearings are installed on both sides of the drive wheel. This construction prevents water and dirt from penetrating the side axle and provides exemplary protection for the inside of the reel. Of all the components of a reel, the line roller is exposed to the greatest stress from salt water, dirt and sand, which are regularly pulled in when the line is wound in.
By using a Magsealed ball bearing in the line roller, the service life and performance are significantly increased. In order to increase the casting performance, the new LC-ABS system (Long Cast ABS System) was integrated into the 20Saltiga spools. The new, special arrangement of the throwing edge creates less frictional resistance when throwing. This means that more litters are possible and there are fewer tangles in the litter.
