The Tyrolean Wooden Lead is an air-filled plastic tube which has a weight at one end and an eyelet for the fishing line at the other. Due to the air in the tube, it floats and thus always maintains its vertical position at the bottom of the water.This is fundamental for keeping the fishing line freely movable at the top end, the weight barely sinks into the mud, and it can be used almost without snagging on rocky bottoms.
