It is remarkable how much technology has been packed into the Metanium DC. The extremely lightweight Core Solid HAGANE Body made of magnesium virtually merges with the hand and perfectly balances even the highest quality rods. Inside the reel body, there are 10+1 extremely high-quality ball bearings, Infinity Drive, a MicroModule gear, and X-SHIP.

This results in a silky smooth and at the same time powerful cranking performance that is only found in Shimano`s best reels. The advanced Magnumlite III spool is made of Ultra-Duraluminium and features Silent Tune technology for stabilizing the bearings and reducing vibrations.

Casting is controlled by the state-of-the-art I-DC5 system. During the cast, the state-of-the-art I-DC5 system controls the rotation speed of the spool. I-DC5 has 2 brake controllers. The internal brake controller is used to set the line type. The external brake controller has 4 semi-automatic settings, which are selected depending on the bait size.

In addition, there is an "Auto" function, where the DC system autonomously decides on the optimal settings of the spool brake. This makes casting an absolute breeze even for Baitcast beginners.
