Made from high-quality fish meal and rich in fish oils, these dense pellets retain their shape and release flavor into your fishing area over a long period.These black Halibut Pellets can be used dry through a feeder basket. A common method is using the 4mm version through a maggot basket, releasing the scent and a slow stream of pellets flowing over the downstream hook bait.
They can also be used through a mesh or river feeder basket by simply moistening them with water. Put the required amount of pellets into a container and pour some water over them, just enough to moisten the exterior of the pellets, and shake well. Then let sit for 30 minutes for the water to soak into the pellets, shaking every 5 minutes to ensure the water is evenly distributed. The pellets will soften slightly so they can be pressed into a mesh feeder basket.
The rate at which they come out of the mesh feeder basket can be influenced by pressing the pellets firmer to hold them longer in the basket. Generally, if you want to create a bait carpet at the start of a session, gentle pressing lets the pellets come out of the basket faster. Over the course of the session, you can then create a competitive feeding behavior by letting the pellets out slower.
